As a music community and as a society we are grateful and appreciative of Gil Scott-Heron's passionate, relevant and provacative discography and his fight for change and equality in America. Rest In Peace Gilbert "Gil" Scott-Heron and rest in knowing that your legacy and your voice will forever change lives and uplift the people.

Kim Burrell :: The Love Album

Ninety Miles :: Stefon Harris, Christian Scott & David Sanchez



On their forthcoming release, Ninety Miles, critically acclaimed jazz musicians vibist Stefon Harris, saxophonist David Sánchez and trumpeter Christian Scott have collaborated to create one of the most exciting jazz releases of 2011. Ninety Miles will feature a distinctly unique collection of songs recorded over the span of a week in Havana, Cuba. The US based trio recruited local Cuban musicians including pianists Rember Duharte and Harold López-Nussa to create the 9 song collection. The result is a true Cuban American musical collaboration that defies political borders. Ninety Miles was released by Concord Jazz on June 21st as a CD/DVD set. The DVD is a documentary that chronicles the making of the CD and is directed by Devin Dehaven. read more
